Edith Falls--Edith Falls, tucked in a gorge on the eastern face of Morne Catherine in Tucker Valley (10.724327,-61.622906), is a combination ribbon (descending in long narrow strip at the top) and fan type (spreading nearer its base) waterfall. It is multi-tiered and estimated at180m high. Its flow is heavier during the rainy season, June to December, and reduced considerably, to a trickle and a mist at the base, during the dry season. Its greyish rock face is slightly off the vertical. The base of the waterfall is accessible, after surmounting some boulders, via the river bed. Macqueripe Beach--Macqueripe beach, 119 metre long by 16 metre wide, made of coarse sand, is situated in the sheltered Macqueripe Bay, which opens in the Caribbean Sea to the North West. It is accessed by a stairway that descends a couple hundred feet and its surroundings are landscaped with plants and flowers. The water reflects the green of the surrounding hillside vegetation and is clear and tranquil; waves are low to moderate from the west but occasionally rough from November to April. Its breaker and surf zones are compressed into an abrupt line where the bottom drops, two or three feet, at a sharp angle within a yard or two. The swash zone adds little and is a little border. At high tide the beach is covered over up to the picnic platform (with picnic tables) situated on the berm and near-shore, during low tide, a swimmer is able to stand on a couple rocks and concrete remnants of the former U.S. Naval submarine base. Plus, there is a fringing reef offshore.
Two life guards are stationed on weekends and public holidays from 10am to 6pm. There is ample paid parking with security personnel and restroom/shower facilities at the top of the hill at the beach entrance.

Pointe Gourde--Pointe Gourde--a lump of land jutting out into the Gulf from the main peninsula--still has remnants of Spanish and British defenses and is famed as the point where Spanish Rear Admiral Apodaca scuttled his fleet in 1779 when the British seized Trinidad from Spain. Dominated by a low forested hill and almost encircled by the sea, fishing, hiking, bird watching and sightseeing--Trinidadˈs west coast, Five Islands, Carrera Islands and the Gulf--are some of the current day activities carried on the pointe.
The Golf Club--This course, on the foothills of Morne Catherine, in tropical forest environs, was built by US servicemen, during World War II, on 39 hectares (96.37 acres), on a former tonka bean plantation, for the recreation of US military personnel stationed at the U.S. naval base and air station during their occupation of Chaguaramas peninsula. After the US military left Trinidad it became known as the Chaguaramas Public Golf Course and the former caddies organized, in 1974, to form the Chaguaramas Golf Club (CGC).
Opened year round, this 9 hole, white (18 tees), 5,646yd, par 67 course has small, well-protected greens, player-friendly fairways and a 250ft driving range.
